APH Publishing Contributor Guidelines

Thank you for contributing to the Australian Performance Horse Magazine. We value your stories and the effort you put into sharing the people, horses, and events that shape our community. To keep the publishing process smooth and professional, please follow the guidelines below when submitting material.

  1. Article Submissions

Articles must be original work and submitted in an editable format (Word or Google Docs preferred).

Please use clear headings, short paragraphs, and check spelling, grammar, and names before submission.

Word count and style should be agreed upon with the editor prior to submission.

The editor reserves the right to make minor edits for clarity, grammar, and house style.

  1. Photography Use Policy

Contributors are welcome to supply photographs for publication, provided they have permission from the copyright holder (usually the photographer) to share them for editorial use.

APH Publishing will not pay additional fees for images supplied by contributors but will always provide a clear credit to the photographer.

It is the contributor’s responsibility to ensure all necessary rights or licences are secured prior to submission.

  1. Image Permissions

Contributors must ensure that all images provided have appropriate consent from the people featured and from event organisers (where relevant) for use in both print and digital publication.

By supplying an image, the contributor confirms that they have secured these permissions.

Images should be provided at high resolution (minimum 300 DPI for print).

  1. Review Process

Contributors will be offered one opportunity to review their article draft before publication.

Drafts will be sent around the 15th of the month prior to the issue release (issues are published on the 1st of the month).

Contributors must provide feedback in written comments only (tracked changes or email notes).

All feedback is due within 72 hours (three days) of receiving the draft. If no feedback is received within this timeframe, the article will proceed as final.

  1. Deadlines

Articles and images must be submitted by the agreed deadline to be considered for publication.

Late submissions may be held over to a future issue at the editor’s discretion.

  1. Credits & Acknowledgments

All photographs will be credited to the photographer as supplied.

Please ensure photographer details are included with submission.

Contributors may include a short author bio (up to 50 words) and one relevant link (e.g., website or social media).

  1. General Notes

APH Publishing reserves the right to decide final placement, length, and edits of all submissions.

By submitting content, contributors agree to these guidelines and confirm that their work does not infringe on the rights of any third party.
